Volunteering
The Farms at Trinity Health, both the Ann Arbor and Oakland campuses, are great places to learn more about sustainable farming, practice healthy eating, and giving back to your community. Our goal is to cultivate a volunteer group who become “experts” in our practices so they may take leadership roles in our growing spaces. We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and abilities, and ask that volunteers be ages 15 and up. We welcome ongoing as well as one-time and group volunteers. On-going volunteers are asked to select one to two shifts that they can attend regularly through the growing season. We welcome large corporate groups on a case by case basis, please reach out to schedule opportunities.
Farming Volunteers typically help with a variety of farm tasks including: Planting, weeding, trellising, trimming, harvesting, spreading compost and mulch, land beautification, and more. This is a great volunteer position for someone who wants to expand their gardening/growing knowledge and get their hands dirty. This starts in March and runs through October.
Farm Share Packing Volunteers assist with packing our weekly Farm Share produce boxes. This is a great volunteer position for someone who would rather be inside or who has more limited mobility. This starts in April and runs through December.
To become a farm volunteer, you will need to complete an online background check. Please email our volunteer coordinator at farmvolunteers@trinity-health.org to get started today!
