Swiss Chard Facts:
Although leaves of chard are eaten, it is in the same family as the beetroot. Chard is an excellent source of vitamins A, K, and C. Stalks of chard contain more iron than the leaves, hence their rosy color.
Shopping and Storage Tips:
- Select chard with fresh green leaves; avoid yellow or discolored leaves.
- Store unwashed leaves in a plastic bag in your crisper for 2-3 days.
