The first day of summer is fast approaching (well, a month away, but the time is flying by). We’ve made a lot of progress in the hoop houses, pulling out winter crops, weeding, adding some compost, and starting to plant the new summer crops, including tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, and peppers! I’m a huge fan of them all, so I can’t wait until they’re ready. I’ve also been handing out some fun recipes at the Farmer’s Market…check out the tab “Farm Healthy Recipes” for a healthy, homemade salad dressing – Refreshing Lemon Garlic Vinaigrette.
After spending 2 weeks so far on The Farm, I have a much greater appreciation for where food comes from and how it makes it from the farm to my plate. Being able to taste the food I’ve helped to take care of is such a great experience. It’s made me excited to start a garden of my own. Check out the pictures below to see how our hoop houses are doing.
