Kittens welcomed to The Farm

Vince and Issy were very small, about 4 weeks old, when they came into our life.

I just wanted to introduce everyone to our new organic small rodent control, Vincent and Isidore. Vince and Issy are both male, and were strays that The Farm has adopted. My wife and I raised them in our house for the first 2 months.

Two weeks ago they were sterilized and vaccinated, thanks to a low cost program of the Humane Society of Huron Valley.

They are now about 4 months old and live at The Farm. Vince and Issy have already made friends with the grounds crew, maintenance, and security. One security guard described them as “beautiful”. I agree.

Grounds crew leaves the light on for them, and a maintenance man give them treats.

I suspect the mice at The Farm probably won’t think they are beautiful. Last month Vincent caught a mouse in my garage, so it seems that they are not too friendly to mice, and will earn their keep. Vince and Issy love each other very much, and often can be found following me around the hoophouses, or snuggling up together for a nap.

This is the time of year that vegetable eating mice and voles start moving into the hoophouses.

Feel free to stop by the farm for a kitten snuggle if you feel inclined.
