I’d like to give a big thanks to Matthaei Bontanical Gardens for the use of greenhouse space, and significant help in the care of transplants for The Farm at St. Joe’s this past winter and spring. I can’t overstate how big this support is. We started and housed our tomatoes, peppers, basil, Swiss chard, and kale transplants in the heated greenhouses this past February through May. The quality of our plants and produce is directly related to the great service and care we receive from the staff of this fantastic organization.
You should think about becoming a member to support Matthaei. I highly recommend a visit to the conservatory at Matthaei. This place is really cool. The grounds of Matthaei also offer many hiking trails, through forests and grasslands, that are teaming with wildlife this time of year. You can further support this organization by attending, the always enjoyable Shakespeare in the Arb. “The Merry Wives of Windsor” is at Nichols Arboretum this month.
