SJMH CEO Rob Casalou on a mission for Make-A-Wish Foundation

Not only is Rob Casalou, President and CEO of SJMH committed to growing healthy food through The Farm at St. Joe’s – he is also an elite athlete dedicated to physical activity. Rob is currently participating in the first day of the 300-mile bike race sponsored by Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Wish-A-Mile 300 Bicycle Tour, or “WAM” as it is affectionately known by riders, is a three-day tour across Michigan. 2011 marks the 24th year of riding to grant wishes! This is the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s single largest fundraiser, which is responsible for granting hundreds of wishes each year for Michigan children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Rob has been training hard for this very special race and looks forward to challenging his physical strength for this tremendous cause. He was also very happy to hear two of our wonderful cardiologists are also riding with him. Rob will be sending updates along the way and is happy to report he has already finished 42 miles this morning and feels great. His route is as follows:

WAM 300 Route 2011

July 28: Travel day to Traverse City
July 29, 30 & 31: Ride to Grant Wishes (approx. 100 miles a day)
July 31: Heroes Hurrah Finish Line – Chelsea, MI

Go Rob! Let’s hope he doesn’t need any intervention by those cardiologists along the way… 🙂
